I Read Blogs, I Love Blogs, I Want to Write a Blog. But...
I read blogs. I love blogs. I recommend my clients write blogs. I hate writing blogs!
I am no different than my clients. I get the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) value of a blog for my business, brand and type of service offered. I just can’t bring myself to write.
So how can someone who doesn’t love to blog, have the time or want to have the time actually blog? Great question and here are a few tips.
- Write about what you know and like or what is related to your business.
- This always brings the next question, “Where do I get content?”. Establish an RSS feed reader, like Google Reader, with content you already reader or topics you are interested in. Use these articles as the basis of your blog posts.
- Develop your style over time as you learn how others communicate through their blogs.
- Schedule the time every day, week, month, etc and stick to it. This is critical as your audience will expect your writings on a consistent basis.
Of course these are just a few ideas, what are your tips for writing blogs?
