As an entrepreneur, you are able to make your own decisions. You will have risks that go along with that. It isn’t a road that’s easy to follow as there are many days of worry.
However, you may prefer the days of worry and problems over the rigid structure of another kind of world. You may also ask “Can I have it all?” Probably not, but you will come as close to it as you can.
Even on TV, there are no housewife heroines anymore. They’re doctors, lawyers, police as well as office workers, waitresses, and sales people. They earn their own money, and today many are outearning their spouses.
It is more difficult if you are a full time wife and mother and then decide to go back to work, but not impossible. It’s hard and you will probably need some training to compete with the others in the workplace, but not impossible.
The problem does get compounded when the work becomes more and more interesting, and therefore, more important. It can become competitive to your home life not only because of time but also as a shock to your family. Do they feel threatened? If yes, decisions and discussions must be had, however the choice is always yours.
If you are in business for yourself, you may choose to have a home-based business, work only certain hours and have a space just for that in your home. However, as your business grows, you may need to make other choices.
Then there are the professional organizations you belong to, meetings to attend and additional external things to get to like sales calls, supplies and general administration.
Whatever your choice, embrace it and enjoy the ride.
